Whats with the rattle in the dash? Can't locate the source, driver or passenger side. Like a cricket, this rattle seems to be everywhere at the same time but mostly the dash.
BTW, I'm a noob to this forum, but I have experience in forums on the other interwebs. Please excuse me if I ask a dumb question, but I always search prior to posting any questions.
This is my second expy. I had a loaded 01 XLT 4x2 that I bought new in 00, with my company's car allowance. I later traded that for a black BMW 335i, now I'm in a divorce induced 2000 Expy. I liked my last Expy so I decided to go find another one.
I like the 2000, other than its GOLD (Ford calls it Bronze), with beige interior, OMG, it is f'n Gold Member. Its also missing some minor options my 01 XLT had, but the 00 Gold Member has a tow package and air ride, whereas my previous 01 didn't, so its a trade I guess. NO FOG LIGHTS though. Its killing me. I plan on purchasing a wrap around brush guard, that should solve my fog light problem.
I've noticed every single 2000ish Expy equipped with one particular style factory aluminum 16" wheel, is missing either one or more center caps. Gold Member is no exception. Ive been to EVERY local salvage yard, found hundreds of other Ford center caps, but not ONE, like all these expy owners I see and I need. Any input on that would be greatly appreciated?
foot note: My experience in these auto salvage yards have all been the same. 1) you will not find the rubber cup holder inserts. 2) You won't see that little plastic cap that goes on the end of the gear selector, where the O/D button is. You'll find the gear selector in great shape, but it'll be missing that end cap part every time. I searched on used car lots and found that many of these caps are missing on those Expy's as well. As is the case with the rubber inserts for the cup holders, and every single Expy on the lot(s) has had at least one missing center cap for this ONE particular stock wheel.

I'm not asking where to find them, moreover, posing the general question of Why? All these particular parts, and just these parts go missing or break off on every single early model Expy?
You may have one, or you may have all the same parts issue, or you could be one of the fortunate few that has no idea what I'm taking about.
