shifter in park...wont start

Ok, long story, but maybe I'm not gone. Sold my lifted 99 expy to get a car safe for my son but he's interested in a great 01 expy 4x4 (but not lifted) we found with only one problem....sometimes the car wont start because the column shifter sometimes wont rest all the way in park. Slightly pull on the lever so it sits firmly in park and it starts no problem. How big a deal is this to fix? Thanks

That was talked about on here before. There is a contact in the column that needs to be adjusted, and or the stick shift may need some help. Good luck.

thanks, I looked everywhere for a thread on it but missed it. As it turned out I wound up picking another 4wd expy (one with it's own little issue)
