I have a 2001 Expedition XLT and wish to upgrade the factory shocks to Rancho. However, due to my factory tow package using Air Suspension, Rancho Tech Support has told me they only sell the front air shocks for my Expy. This may create a leveling issue. Another option I have is to disable the factory air suspension and put on the Rancho 9000's that will give me the lift I need to pull my trailer. Has anyone dealt with this issue and if so, did you install the Rancho's on the front and something like Monroe's on the rear?

Rancho's are made by Monroe. Shocks alone will not lift your truck. maybe a new set of "air-bags" or compressor for your air-ride load leveling system. In order to lift your truck you will either need new springs and or spacers.

Thanks for the reply. . I really like my air suspension and simply want to replace the existing shocks all around. . I have heard conflicting comments concerning putting replacement shocks on with an air susp system. . ie: unlevel ride etc. . So I really dont know what to do at this point.
The site offroadwarehouse.com has some Bilstein Shocks that will work with Expeditions with "air ride suspension" and they cost about $60. . .Has anyone put OEM performance shocks on an Air Ride Expedition?? Let me know.

I saw a website last week, named strutmaster.com.. I think, they offer replacement shocks for airsuspension Expeditions, not the new ones as of yet, but I think I saw up to the 01-02 models.
