Something keeps blowing my rear wiper fuse.

My rear wiper was working fine, then one day it got stuck. I checked the fuses, and the one user the hood was blowen. I replaced it, blew again after using it a while. While it was working it would act as if I turned it off after every cycle. Would hesitate a bit. So I put a higher amp fuse in, same deal.

Is this maybe some known issue? Also why is it stalling and going back to the off position even while on??

The reason the fuse blows is because it is drawing to many amps. This is called an OVERLOAD. putting in a higher rated fuse only allows the device to draw more amps. This results in even a larger OVERLOAD and allows more current into wires that aren't designed to handle the excessive amps. THE WORSE THAT CAN HAPPEN BY PUTTING IN A HIGHER RATED FUSE IS YOU WILL HAVE A FIRE.

Go back and trouble shoot the problem. Also it appears that you need to replace the rear wiper motor and make sure you install the correct amp rated fuse back into the circuit.

You may want to remove the wiper assembly and clean up the wiper arm shaft as it could be binding causing the overload.

Point taken. Stupid oversight on my part.

I do happen to have an extra motor, guess I will put it in and hope it fixes it.
