Why does it seems mine and maybe many expeditions eat up tires so fast? Particularly wearing on the outside edges? The shop guy told me alignment is right and it is an expedition and possibly F150 thing?

I guess it depends on driving style and type of tire you have on the vehicle. The stock Continentals I had on my '06 lasted over 70K miles. I hated them from the day I got it, but couldn't justify replacement until they wore out. Lasted 4 more years and nearly 50K miles before replacement.

I think it has to do with not using LT tires. I have friends that bought tires for the F-150 the same time I did. They got about 1/2 the mileage out of them as I did. So when I got new tires for the Expy I got the LT not the P tires they called for. Also rotating them does wonders for wear.
