Hi guys,
I have a first generation 99 expedition. My steering shaft from the firewall to the gear box is loose when I grab it near the engine block. Is this kind of normal? I do have a little play on the highway, and I'm sure replacing the shaft would tighten up my steering (after 996.98 parts and labor, the steering shaft is 465.00). I've had the truck on a lift and and inspected the ball joints and tie rod ends and those are all tight. Is there anyway to replace the rubber bushings in the steering shaft or do I have to replace the whole shaft? Thank you for providing any responses.
