Okay, so after my 1200 mile trip to/from Florida I looked at the tires on the expedition. I noticed that the two rear and right front tires have so far worn normal but the front left is wearing more on the drivers tire than it is on the pass tire. the driver tire itself it wore more on the inner part than the outer but the whole tire is more wore than the pass tire is. the pass tire is wore pretty even though. Here are some pics to better show it.
question two. when I did the initial inspection of the truck that day, I noticed abit of play in the RF wheel so I raised it up by the butt of the shock to keep the suspension loaded. the wheel play was gone but, when I put pressure at 9 and 3 on the wheel I could turn the whole assembly about an inch or more. while this was happening I noticed the whole steering linkage was rotating on the axis of the idler and pitman arms. I tried to get a video but my phone wouldn't cooperate.
question three: when going in a straight line the truck will track straight. until I hit even the slightest bump then it will pull right. at what rate is random. when I correct this the same slight bump can randomly make it over correct left. this and the numb steering, as I know to describe it, really makes driving her an effort i don't really enjoy. at first I suspected bad tie rod ends (inner or outer) but when I did the pitman arm I inspected them. all I found was torn boots but plenty of grease left for the time being. I have replaced the lower ball joints and have a receipt dated about a year ago from the upper joints/control arms and they have Zerk fittings on them unlike the oe ones.
is this something an alignment would fix or are there more parts to replace?
