Hi all,

I have used the search function and have not found an answer to my question so I am wondering if you can help. I have a 98 that the rear air bags are shot, just quit holding air today, the pump was running every couple of minutes so I shut it off. The front shocks and bags were replaced a few months ago and now I am wondering if I do a coil over conversion if I have to do the front. I really don't want to put the money into the front again so can I replace the rear bags with coils and still use the air bags in the front? If I can how do I seal off the rear air pipes so that I am not running the pump constantly?

Thanks for your help in advance.

If I remember correctly, there is a conversion kit you can buy, I wanna say it was 175-300 dollars, sorry for the lack of memory, to fully convert your airide to a standard suspension. I haven't had any issues with my air ride, yet, but you know how it goes, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail".

Well it's at the shop checking for leaks or broken connections right now. I think it is the bags themselves and with having to replace the fronts only a few months ago, probably just going to go with replacing the bags. Waiting to see what we find first with the air lines first.

Okay so no leaks and the bags are operating properly at this point. Gotta love air ride suspension, not! I think I will not buy another Expy with air ride, that is for sure.

I have no idea what it was, I shut off the air ride for a day and then turned it back on. It has been a couple weeks and knock on wood everything has been running properly. It's an unsolved mystery at this point.
