Ok my truck has about 60,000 on it. It has never had Synthetic oil in it. I'm thinking about converting it over. Is this a good idea or because of mileage should I just keep what I got in it? My stepdad says it may cause problems. Is this ? I don't know that much about Synthetic oils...

I am a believer in synth's, Mobil 1 5W-30 goes in all my vehicles. At one time when syn's first came out there was a discussion that in braned new engines the syn was so slick that the parts never seated/seals leaked. With the mileage on your you will be fine. I recommend Mobil 1 syn and only use the motorcraft FL-820-s. Wal Mart carries both with the best prices.

Thank you very much. I really wanted to switch over but didn't know if it was safe. Now I do.

It does not break down like dino oils. It keeps the engine cleaner inside and the lubricity properites stay more consistant allowing the engine to last longer.
