Hey all,
my 98 EB will every once in a while tick while I'm warming it up, then tick faster while I accelerate. This only lasts for about 200 feet, then stops for the rest of time I'm driving. Should I be worried?
BTW the fluids are all normal and brand new oil.
Thanks

sounds like an oil flow problem, you could put seafoam or CO2 you can drive with both of them in the oil and will clean all the oil passages... thats my guess

i had the same problem in my 98. it was a lifter. i will do that everytime the engine is cold but will go away when it warms up like you said. really nothing you can do unless you replace the lifter.....expensive.

The manifolds are still solid, and man i hope it isn't a lifter. I've heard mixed reviews on Seafoam,...is it something I should do? This truck is my baby and I've heard of people having problems after seafoaming...

i have no idea. i was just told that it was a lifter by a mechanic. when it comes to engines, i know very little so i just take their word for it, research it on the forums, and make my decision from there.
