I've been researching tire chains and finally called a place I had bookmarked. The guy was super friendly and helpful.

The company is TireChain.com out of PA.

THIS is the best link to get started if you're interested in chains.

The ones I'm interested in are the VBAR CHAIN

Hope this helps.

I don't know anything about chains. Are the sizes listed for the rim diameter or the overall tire diameter? I'd like to have a set just in case we go to Big Bear again this year.

rim diameter or the overall tire diameter

Both, you need 3 numbers such as 35x12.50x17

Whatever it says on the wall of the tire

Always the tire size.Try them on before you have to use them.Tires are like shoes. Some run big or small. We sale a chain called a Pewag. Its Austrian.A forged alloy square link.Awesome stuff. It will outlast the carbon steel off shore stuff by 4 times. But drive pavement kills any chain.

Mu chains arrived last Thurs from tirechain.con AHEAD of schedule. The UPS guy is a pretty formidable size and strength and he groaned to lift the smallish 110 box of dead weight. I asked him to please just put in the in the X so I could take it to the hills with me.

I diidnt see enough snow to justify breaking them out this weekend, but I opened the box just now to unload it to the garage and each pair are in their own bag as are the Spring Tensioners.

I'll take pics of these when the weather is more favorable.

These are the pics of them laying in the driveway, I haven't tried to put them on yet.
