TITAN: No Spare-Tire Well X-Range Aux Fuel Tank Available, and none in the near future.

This is disappointing, b/c I can't help but wonder if any of the models they might already have made, would fit with just some metal being removed...

Was not a fan of the whole "cut another hole in the panel" nor the 1/2 gallon a minute fuel pump transfer (60 minutes to empty the 30 gallon spare).

I had a plan, and this is severely screwing with it...

Where do you plan on going that will require that kind of range?

I carry 10 gallons on the bumper of my Explorer (jerry cans). Friend of mine I believe has the AEV 10 gallon thing that is moulded into the spare tire.

I have several jerry cans, but prefer the security, safety and discretion an underbody tank provides.
I am looking into other options now. If anyone has any info, please add it here. Thank you--

I'm not sure I want all that fuel underneath any vehicle. I've seen many that burn after accidents and I would hate if that happened to anyone. Just be smart guys.

Since I’m assuming you’re not running a spare in the factory location, you could bolt in any tank across the frame rails that fits.

You mean like the factory fuel tank?

I appreciate your concern, but can't help but think a well secured fuel tank protected by the bumper and trailer hitch would be more of a danger than Jerry cans attached to the bumper/roof of the vehicle.

That being said, most people fill and use these items off road, where rear impact with others is extremely rare--though the potential for rollovers with all that fuel can be a risk as well.

Didn’t Ford try putting the gas tank behind the axel a while back? I think they named it after a horse. Oh yeah, Pinto, that’s it...

You are thinking of the bean, lol.

FYSA, there are multiple companies producing and selling plastic and metal gasoline/diesel fuel tanks for between the axle and bumper setups here in the U.S., and worldwide. And somehow they manage to survive and keep selling them.

If you are serious about it, all it takes is money. You can have a custom built fuel cell built however you like. Pyrotect and many others build custom cells for anything.
