Currently driving an 2007 with 88,000. I have the itch and made a deal on CPO 2012 with 15,000. It has a few upgraded features from my 07 but a few things I want to do. Any recommendations to the following:
1. Need to add a DVD player. I was thinking of the headrest ones, but being that we have 3 backseat passengers. A drop down seems more practical. Looking at an Audiovox 10.2 screen. Is this decent?
2. Has anyone removed the "center" portion of the 2nd row seat? With 2 kid car seats it's difficult to get to the 3rd row as is.
3. Heated seats? I never had leather or heated seats. Is it a must have to warm the bottom and are they expensive to add?
Finally, any known issues with 2012? I had the 2007 bubbling tailgate paint issue that Ford refused to do anything about?
Thanks!

I havent had any issues with my 12 and its funny I came from an 07 too (the one on my sig).
1. Im not sure if you can add an overhead with a sunroof, I could be wrong
2. The center portion is easily removed but you will have the holes on the carpet. But all you need is the center carpet from one with true captains. Also when you take the center off if you feel the cloth portion of the outer seats you will feel a bolt. This is the bolt that you can add the arm rest to if you want a true captains chair.
3. I have the heated seats and hardly use them but then again Im in Florida. Also when I do use them if makes me fart much quicker. Could be mental though

I have the 2nd row Capts and having kids it is awesome, no need to mess with folding seats or climbing over. I also have the heated leather, I am in Arkansas and it gets cold here. I will say they heat up faster than the heater, but after 10-15 minutes you will turn them down or off. My wife loves them and thinks it is the best part of the truck.

For the DVD players, I have been looking at them as well. Do you plan on installing yourself or having them done? Reason I ask, from what I have read, you may have to put in a supporting bar to support the weight of the player. I personally with be getting 4 headrest monitors with 2 players, they make OEM matching colors/materials for some of the headrest ones.

GL and let me know when you get the DVD player, so I can pick you brain on what you did.

Right now I'm leaning on the single screen drop down. Being that I have three back seat passengers, if I got the headrest ones, the 3rd row person would have a hard time viewing.
There is some adjustments that need to be made on the drop down. I spoke with a company that installs them for the dealerships. On the Audiovox 10.2" screen is $949 installed with a 3 year guarantee (lifetime labor).
On the headrest, 7" screen $1,495 installed. The nice thing on the headrest, is if you sell the vehicle you can take the headrest monitors with you.

We use the heated seats often here in Nebraska, but they get real hot after a couple minutes and I don't like sweat down my crack so it doesn't stay on long. If you were going to install anything on the seats I would go with the seats that cool, that is a must with leather, love that option! I have a 10.2 fold down screen in mine with a sunroof so it can be done. I wanted to go bigger but thats the biggest I could go without it covering the roof vents that come down. (had a 15" and it was too big)
Never thought about removing the center seat, guess just hole in the carpet that you would have to look at.

I have the heated seats and don't use them but my wife does and loves it and we're in Fl as well. I also have an aftermarket drop down screen with a sunroof and its fine. I do have a 2nd gen though
