So I have had this shutter for about a year. It happens when you hit about 35-40 mph and let it hit overdrive (4th). I figured it was misfires but after replacing coils and plugs, it is still there. So next step is the transmission I figure. Read plenty about torque converter shutter, so I pick up some transmission treatment. Add it to the transmission, and look underneath where I see a huge puddle of red.

So my question is if you add too much fluid is there an overflow? It could just be the fluid tube leaking, but I have never seen it drip on the ground, and it does not drip now. Fluid was full before I added the bottle, but the bottle specifically said that one bottle overfill will not harm the transmission.

Thanks in advance.

My guess would be you have a hole (possibly rust) in your dipstick / fill tube that leaked out as you were filling it ?!

Yeah I figured it was probably a hole somewhere. I tried following it to see if I could pinpoint the area of leakage but I am not seeing it. What I do know is that none of that bottle made it to the transmission haha.

Oh well, as long as the fluid is not going down, I'll just drive it till she blows in 100,000 miles :devilfinger:

Did you use a funnel ?

LOL...

Haha no I was operating away from home in the O'Reilly parking lot. The bottle had a cone nozzle so it should not have missed. However with Black Friday weekend I have been burnt out from work, so I guess it is possible I just dumped the entire bottle all over the side of the valve cover... Probably not likely though.

At least it was at O'Reilly's instead of your driveway...
