Go to post 34. Not sure if a 2019 has a heat exchanger like a 2024, but if it does, here is what it looks like.

Transmission cooling-can it be improved?

Struggling to make sense of that, not sure what reprogramming would do to change that? I do have a recall that needs to be done so maybe I will talk to them when I take it in and see if there are any updates that need to be done. What was the reason you have the pcm/tcm updated? Recall and...

I had the thermostat replaced and cooling system flushed when I first read about the improved one here. Basically we do mostly local driving, but on a trip from Phoenix to Denver last summer, no trailer, I monitored the transmission temps very carefully, especially on the long pulls in the mountains. As I recall, there was no time I ever saw a temp over 210° even going across the Rez "hammer down" in the occasional passing lanes.

My dealer did the stat for 130 bucks total on top of the flush. It was due for a flush and the stat was giving up so it was a no brainer. If it’d been much more I’d have done it myself.

I was in the same boat as one of the previous posters. I was getting a coolant flush and they still wanted $800 to replace the thermostat. Couldn't believe it, it was already drained.

I was having an issues with the trans venting and running over 225 on my 2020. I found the shop had overfilled it when servicing. It still ran up to 225 when pulling our camper, which is only 3500 lbs. I changed the engine thermostat to a 180. Now it never gets past 205.

I just drove over Wolf Creek Pass 10,895 pulling the camper. The temp got to 212.
