i got under mine recently and i have the plastic trans pan. has anyone had there's electively replaced. seems like a terrible idea to have a plastic pan. I'm curious if anyone has just asked ford to replace there's and what it might have cost. thanks for the help guys.

I have the plastic oil pan and Tranny pan. No problems yet. I don’t think there is a straight metal pan update for either at this point but I could be wrong. I would be more interested in the ability to check transmission fluid from the engine bay, drain, and replace the tranny fluid if such an upgrade existed. I am unconvinced of lifetime transmission fluid.

However, back on topic, I wouldn’t be too concerned with a plastic transmission pan. I’d bet your gas tank is also plastic. No worries there, right?

I’d be way more concerned with the lack of drain plug.

Mag-Hytec may have a pan (with a drain plug). Possibly even Dorman. I’m about to replace the pan on my 2014 with a Dorman pan with a drain plug.

But a gas tank leak won’t destroy your engine, you’ll just run out of gas. I have look for metal pan upgrades and as of yet have not found a cost effective or even compatible replacement. The aftermarket hasn’t caught up to the Gen 4 yet.

Until the design is proven bad by reports of leaks, etc..I don't see the point of changing it.

i wouldn't care if it had a decent skid but there's literally a piece of felt to hold back any trail obstacles. as of yet short oft doing the raptor trans skid the aftermarket hasnt addressed the expo skid needs

Few post in RCI implies the F-150 one they make will work.

yeah that's where i got my info from. i haven't dabbled in the skids yet. one project after another. im pretty nervous about doing anything more serious than fire roads until i get some protection though. got a big road trip up to idaho next month so im figuring out roof rack right now. skids will probably be next. then lift after overland expo
