Hello Everyone,
I’m the owner of a 2018 Expy, bought new. Had ALL the usual (trans, phaser, etc). Is the 2025 any better? I know it’s still too new. Just wondering if anyone knows a Ford tech, or IS a Ford tech with an opinion. Especially the transmission issues. Any information welcome.
Thank you everyone
Joe

Ford issued a safety recall involving defective engines in some 2025 Expedition models: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCLRPT-25V198-1837.PDF

For anyone to state the 2025 models are any better is impossible.

Ford has issued a lot of safety recalls involving a massive number of vehicles, including the Expedtion, over the past few years. For several years they led the in the number of safety recalls and the number of vehicles recalled.

Call me a cynic - but I would not bet the quality and reliability has improved.

2025’s were delayed not even sure they are on the lots yet. I know the phaser part finally got sorted out somewhere into 2023. CDF drum issue assuming thats the main problem should have been a easy fix as soon as they realized the machining of the part wasn’t correct.

However!! If Ford switches parts providers we could easily see bad batches of connecting rod pins like GM’s 6.2’s
