Just put brakes on my wife's 2004 Expedition and noticed what I think is a vacuum line clipped to one of the brake lines below the master cylinder. It is not plugged and I can not find any fitting it would have been connected to. At first I was thinking it may be a vent line, but I think it is way to small - inside diameter is about the size of a small finish nail (approx. 1/16"). So, my questions are: (1) is this a vacuum line? (2) if so, what for and where should it go or should it just be plugged?
Thanks,

IN the first pic it looks like there is a cut hose behind the corrugated cover. Look at the top center.

is the expy 4x4 or 4x2. in my opinion it looks like a vent line (some are very small on my truck)since its run in the corrugted cover. is there a way you can take pictures/ trace it down the line?

It is 4x4, it just seemed way to small to be the front differential vent line. I'll try to trace it.

I won't be able to trace the mystery line until my wife gets home next week.

Is there any chance someone with a 2004 can just check to see if they have the mystery line clipped below the master cylinder and whether or not it is plugged?
Thanks

I don't have one in that location on my '06, but I do have one in the same corrugated wrap that ends just in front of the shock tower under some hard lines.
