Hi I'm a new member:
In 2019 I purchased my Expedition Limited Max. In 2021 the VCT Phasers and Cam Sprockets were replaced, not with the updated parts, this was covered under warranty. in 2023 the parts need to be replaced again!!! The dealership replaced them again under warranty, however they again used the old parts not the updated parts. I can understand that the updated parts may not have been available in 2021 but the sure were available in 2023. It is now 2025 and they need replaced again! I contacted the dealership and I am awaiting a response. This will be the 4th time these parts have had to be replaced!!!! Does anyone have any advice what I should do if the dealership declines to help me. By the way the vehicle was still under warranty when the repaired the vehicle in 2023 not using the updated parts.

I have a 2019 Expedition (w/ 104K miles), recently I took my Expedition in for a noise on start and learned that it is the VCTs. It is at my local Ford Dealership receiving a $5K repair. In 2021 I had Recall #21B10 performed in which the PCM was reprogrammed. This band aid apparently has lasted until my Expedition is out of any prorated warranty. Multiple calls to Ford Customer Relationship Center were made and all that I was told that there was no current program to help cover the cost of the VCT Timing job replacement.
I am a Life long Ford customer and very disappointed with the Ford Customer Relationship Center response.
