Waiting On Alpine

So Alpine is releasing a 8" unit. has all the feats I need with a bigger screen. They say it fits the 09-up F150 I'm hoping it will fit the 06 expy.

I don't think so my cuz has a 09 F-150. Opening looks the same to me. I'm gonna have to break out the ruler.

I actually checked with them too, they said they weren't aware of when/if Alpine was going to bring something out.

The 2nd gen do have a smaller opening than the 3rd gen. Also, the 09-up 150's have a totally different setup for the NAV setup than the Expys. They use a separate screen with the controls further down the center stack.

I just got out the ruler after forgetting for a couple of days. It should fit with little to no modification if were still going to go this route.

The opening for my navigation is 9 x 7.75 x 5 ( Diag x Width x Height )
The unit screen is 8 x 7.8 x 4.8 ( diag x Width x Height )
The chassis is 7 x 4 ( width x height )

By those numbers that unit should fit with little to no modification. But I'm gonna build a carputer with a 8" touch screen now. Just thought I would share what I found.
