Hey guys, im having a weird issue with my 09 expy eddie bauer. I dont know if its a u joint or something in the rear axle. But as im stopping there is a sorta like a clunking noise and it might be an odd explanation but it feels like the rear end wants to keep going as the rest of the truck is stopping????

Anybody ever feel anything similar, its gonna have to go in to the shop soon. But id love to get some ideas in my head on what it might be.

Thanks!

Tom

I have experienced what I believe is this same issue for a few years. I have replaced the rear driveshaft u-joints as well.

At one point someone suggested packing grease where the driveshaft attached to the transfer case. That seemed to minimize the issue for a bit. Now I only get this clunk when applying the brakes quickly after the drivetrain is under load from accelerating. This is generally in stop and go traffic etc

Thanks for the help.. I will look into that stuff. Its been ok again for the last couple days

Unfortunately some putz decided to hit me and run while the truck was parked this weekend. So thats gonna suck up my spare cash at the moment to really dig into this. I have the worst luck.

Oh gosh, thank you for posting that! It sure sounds about right to me. I assume like the '11 f150 in the video my 09 eddie bauer will have the same 1 piece driveshaft?
