Replacing the stock struts wasn't too bad. If you can do a brake job you can do struts. Took almost3hrs at a local DIY auto shop. I helped a buddy replace struts on a '08 with the 3/2 lift it is pretty difficult alone. Recommend finding a buddy. Rear wasn't too difficult but front had to drop A arms to fit the strut with 3inch attachment. Not sure about your '03

Installed a new set of 6000k hi/lo hids and put in new led fog light bulbs.

I love the fact that xlts cone pre wired for fog lights, ask I have to do is mount the fog lights, hook up the loose fog light wires behind the bumper and install an oem headlight switch that has the fog light switch built into it and that's it!

Technically I didn't do it, but the dealer did. I took my '08 in for a few items: oil change, ac problems, and the TPMS light stays on. I have only had this truck since May and since July I have been laid up with a bum foot from surgery, so I haven't been able to take care of much since then.

ac problem: the compressor was leaking and the txv valve was bad.
tpms problem: the sensors in the wheels were incorrect. Previous owner must have swapped wheels with another vehicle. All 4 sensors needed to be replaced.

Also, they found I had a leaky right front axle seal and half my fan shroud was missing.

Since I am not in any shape to do the work myself, I gave them the okay to do all the work. I pick it up this evening, and my wallet is about $2500 lighter. I knew if the ac was involved it wouldn't be cheap. This took care of some nagging issues and restores my peace of mind.

Replaced the serpentine belt. It went pretty easy with a 1/2" drive ratchet and a piece of pipe for extra leverage.

Was that from empty? If so wherever you are from that is insanely cheap lol.
Lol yeah that was from about a gallon left, just under 27 gal is about the most I've ever gotten it to take.

I'm in NW Ohio, it was down to $2.74/gal last week and we had $1 off per gallon with or grocery store fuel points. Even with my fuel points I never thought I'd see it that low ever again. Crappy thing was I used almost all my points filling up the expy and had to fill my 3/4 ton Silverado with a 30 gal tank the next morning so that fill up was much more depressing.

OK I just did the conversion, that's almost 95 liters of fuel, which is close to a full tank if I'm not mistaken. That is insane I wish fuel was that cheap here:( 95 liters here right now is low (for us) at 1.10 per liter that same amount of fuel you bought would have ran me 105.45 CDN even with the us dollar being stronger than the CDN dollar at the current exchange rate 105 CDN dollars = 92.94 us funds.

So if I filled up from empty in your neck of the woods it would only cost me around 50$ or so CDN. I could totally live with prices like that, id def do allot more driving for pleasure and trail driving etc.

Oh crap I went off doing calculations and checking rates etc. I didn't realize the coupon and points etc that makes a huge difference. Without the 1$off per gallon coupon it would have been 70$ which is just under 79$ and some change CDN. If I filled up from dead empty it would be over 100$, prob around 110$-115 so the difference is about 30-35$ us funds, and that #would be lower due to the points.

I picked up my Expy from the shop after repainting the hood and the tailgate. Looks 100x better without the paint flaking anymore. I love this truck :D

Had a coolant flush done, also changed the thermostat for a high flow prestone one, and changed the overflow cap.

Also did the oil and filter, used Quaker state defy 5w20.

I replaced the oil drain plug with a magnetic drain plug originally for a Honda, which fit perfectly.

The magnets are very strong and do work in type r so I'm hoping it works on the expedition.

Cleaned the interior yesterday and washed it today. Then I went over it with some quick detail. I need to get it on the lift so I can really scrub the rims.

Today I finished putting on my newly plasti-dipped hub caps. I think they look a lot better in black rather than that factory shiny grey and steel look.
