Warmed up decently today, so did more painting of the replacement fender.

No drips, sags, or runs yet, but there is going to be quite a bit of colour sanding to get it looking good...

Took my recently 03 EB.with 279,000 kms in for a full mechanical inspection. I knew it needed new Front brakes so there was surprise there.
Found out it needs a serpentine belt, pinion seal, E-brake doesnt work. and the big dissapointment ... the air conditioning doesnt work. The mechanic said the compressor is also showing a leak.
Now my question is , what is a pinion seal? They want 163$ to fix it.
Also my wife says fixing the AC is a must. anyone have experience with that? HOw much dough am I looking at here?

Pinion seal is on the rear end. It is what seals the yoke to the rear end so none of the gear oil leaks out. Easy to change with the right tools. $163 sounds about right if it includes the seal

Filled the gas tank for my wife (actually a couple days ago, but this is the first time since that I have logged on). Almost $80. I love big gas tanks!

Haven't had a problem with the expy's AC (knock on wood) but the compressor on my 03 crown vic took a shit on me and a guy quoted me $800-$900 to fix it because he wanted to replace everything or else none of it would have a warranty, why I do not know. I told him to get bent and I fixed it for $200. If it's just your compressor you're looking at about $300 for the compressor not including install.

Gave it a new windshield.

I have to give a shout out to Portland Glass for a great job at great price. ($236 installed) I don't have glass coverage on my insurance.

Post a pic when you get a chance, I am also in need of doing light work in the dash and am curious how it turned out.

Sorry sir, completely forgot about this. Took the pic the next morning after you asked, then completely put it out of my mind.

See a dim spot at about 120 on the speedo and 2000 on the tach?

That's a regular bulb that got unintentionally mixed in with the better ones. It was new too, but you can definately see a difference between the that one and the good bulbs...

Was very much worth the hour and half effort, including another run the to the parts shop to find a couple of those micro bulbs that go by the Odo. Unfortunately I have to do it again to replace that one bad bulb...

Rhino lined the bottom again (soon to be the whole thing) and about to put a torsion key lift and rear spacers on.
