Wow, even the first pass with the garden hose looks really good.

It took forever too, horribly inefficient as tons of brown water kept coming out of the drivers side. the rest of it cleared up quickly after turning coca cola colored for a few seconds. I'll get to put it all back in when it eventually dries out.

On Sunday I finally had a chance to wash off the 5 layers of dirt. And I was able to polish the scratch someone was kind enough to leave when squeezing between my truck and a Nissan in the parking lot at work.

She scared me today...drive to a friends place and on the way back I left the driveway in a spirited manner. er.. wide open you could say. well, I made it home (half a mile) and noticed a ton of steam and immediately shut her off. poped the hood and noticed coolant in the valley of the intake and thought the worst, but then I noticed the throttle body was also wet. I blew a heater hose off of the firewall. loose clamp probably. well, I back flushed the heater core and got an interesting amount of soot like stuff out and refilled with a/f and ensured the clamps were tight this time. so far so good.

merry Christmas everyone!

Installed a Pioneer AVH-X2600BT stereo. Installed the steering wheel controls adapter and the harness to keep the rear dvd functional. Works well.
Now I just need to get the adapter to use the MirrorLink with my phone. Then it will be even better.

Gave it a bath. Lots easier in SC than in WV this time of year.

Popped the hood, found a hood strut isn't holding up any more - crap back to the wreckers to find a replacement

Stared at the engine just trying to see the #4 COP, argh, what a pain that's gonna be.

Closed the hood and had a couple beers inside where it's nice and warm.

I lubricated my squeaky rear doors. That little round rubber thing sounded like sandpaper every time I opened or closed the doors. Now they both sound better.

The weather has been so bad around here for almost the last month, I hadn't had a chance to clean up the KR. Today the sun popped out this afternoon and I jumped on it AND my wife's car, 2004 Thunderbird. Washed, dried, detailed with my Zaino Gran Finale and CS spray.

Managed to break the sunroof mechanism. I had the stupid idea of opening it this morning (it's close to zero degrees F over here) and I guess there must have been some ice somewhere and something popped off or broke on the passenger side mechanism. So now the rear of the glass lifts higher on the passenger side than on the other and doesn't seal properly when I hold down the button to close the roof.

I pressed the close button little by little until I got the glass into a position where there are no gaps around it. I've also added a bit of silicone on the side that sits higher and hope it will hold water out until spring when I'll dismantle it and try to fix it.

I woulda done unspeakable things to that prius for that...

My first thought was "put the key through the rear quarter panel!!" Then I figured i'd be the bigger adult. If I had a junker car though, I probably would have gotten in through my driver's door.
