Though not technically today (Friday evening/Saturday morning), I replaced my intake manifold gaskets. Was getting coolant leaking into the cylinders after sitting overnight. While i was there i replaced the spark plugs. They were looking pretty bad after 100k miles. Probably should've done the valve cover gaskets too, but i was tired. I don't think the intake will make it much harder anyway.
Nice work! I have personally done all 3, plugs, intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets, and all 3 were a ***** as I did the plugs first then I had to the intake and valve cover gaskets a cpl months later.
In fact after getting the intake off I replaced all 8 plugs again since they were right there, and I bought better ones the second time.
I got a bunch of the valve cover bolts off by going through the wheel wells, just a Lil tip when u do yours.
The intake and valve cover gaskets are such small items but take so much work to get to, but it's so worth it in the end, my motor was so filthy from the coolant and oil seeping onto it, and the plugs would have eventually started fouling from oil and coolant. Was like a new truck after!
When I did the intake a ton the time to clean out every sensor on the intake with throttle body cleaner, truck idles perfectly and runs so smooth august will be one year since I did all that work and it still runs great, and I just clicked past 360,000 kms this week, with 14 brutal Manitoba winters under its belt. That's Ford tough.
