Here's what I'm gonna attempt today after work, I got the tap with an extension which adds up to 8.5", I need a minimum of 7" so I'm in the clear on this, also I ordered a 3/8-16 bolt that is 12" and when that gets here I'll cut it down to 8" and use it as the extractor.... If all fails then I'm giving up and will have to do pull the heads off

Hit 100k!!! Oh boy!!

Finally got to my 5k mile interval on my Rotella T6 oil experiment. Going to pull a sample, pack it up to ship to Blackstone and change the oil. So far the oil has darkened quite a bit, which is to be expected (it was almost diesel black after the first 550 mile change) but I haven't lost any.

Awesome! Were you able to get it done without removing all the panels? I replaced both of mine last summer. Also finally had my AC fixed. Rear was blowing warm air. Turned out being the expansion valve.

I have those and the plastic is cloudy now... after 7 yrs...i retrofitted mine with projectors and halos

Mr. 10K

I've got a buddy that wants to retro fit some projectors into these but I've had projectors in the past and it wasn't better lighting than oem. Looked way cooler but not much light output. But then again I bought mine in 2004 when they first came out and I'm sure the tech in the new ones are way better.

replaced front left brake hose. It was almost completely clogged or internally collapsed. The hose looked fine from the outside.

Never experienced anything like it before. The truck would pull really hard to the right when braking but it wasn't really felt through the steering wheel.

Also Rotella T6?

5w40 or 15w40? Pure oil or any additives?

I'm currently testing out T6 5w40 + LiquiMoly Ceratec

T6 is the 5w40, but its on the 'thinner' end of the 40 spectrum, closer to the 30 weight spec. I use just the T6 with a Motorcraft filter. Keep in mind that Rotella (a Shell company) has recently changed their "recipe" for the new specification that has been established. It supercedes the previous general engine oil spec. Keep in mind the new spec is reverse compatible, but the previous oil spec does not meet the newer spec. (I will edit this with references to both specs: http://www.api.org/~/media/Files/Ce...ications/MOTOR_OIL_GUIDE_120116_FINAL_WEB.pdf )

I do not use any sort of additional additives. Almost all of them are absolute garbage and offer no actual improvements. The only time those additives actually provide any assistance is to super cheap "dino" oils that have a poor additive blend to begin with. Almost every single one of the additional additives have proven to do little to nothing to additionally reduce wear (keep in mind the wear tests they proclaim are done on ball bearings and a 1 arm bandit not in actual engines). Used oil analysis when done with these additives have proven almost no positive results, some actually made engine oil worse. People who gained the most from additives have utilized specific additves to address specific problems.

I'm not berating you for using them, you are a free man to do what you wish. My background and my "research" has only solidified my OPINION of additives. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong. Mine very well may be.
