Nice design, are you adding any friction tape to it or leaving it semi smooth as is?Made some steps for my 94 year old Mother to climb up into my 2014EL. Modular -- 2 parts, so easier to transport & setup.
The 2 parts nest together to take up less space and lighter to move.

Good thing it isnt lifted !!
Good point about the friction tape. I thought about how slick that lumber could be so I gouged it with my wood carving tools but that was not real effective. I'm definitely going to add some grip now. The Depot has a bunch of products for that, thank you.Nice design, are you adding any friction tape to it or leaving it semi smooth as is?

Got around to flushing my mount up. Painted the wood black and looks much better.
I ordered a 4” micro usb cable to get rid of some of the wire clutter underneath. Probably could use a 2” but 4” was the shortest I could locate.
Does anyone know if that power port turns off after a period of time or is it always hot??

I've put 5k on mine since August.......and I have a company car, so that's just family miles. So I had a reminder on my phone that notified me that last year 12/10/17 my expedition hit the 141,000 mile mark, today 1 year later it has 839 more.... I didn't even drive it a measly 1,000 miles in a year (2.3 miles a day average), yet I dumped more money into it than it would've cost me to operate it 100,000 miles over a 5 year span
It's either stupidity or lack of common sense, I'm suffering from one of the two I just dont know which, maybe both!
Upgraded mine to LED 2 years ago......HUGE difference!
We'll today it's official I've decided to retire the Expedition and going for a 96 Bronco Eddie Bauer 4x4 with a 351.
