Did a claybar-polish-wax job on the hood of my newly acquired '14 Limited. The surface was in pretty rough shape and still has a little bit of spider webbing but I'm pretty pleased with the result. Next session ought to get all of it, I think. Although I wasn't searching for a black vehicle when I bought this one, I've come to really like this color, especially when the sun catches it at just the right angle.

New tires came, ended up skipping the Bridgestone Duellers and went with new Michelin MS/2s instead. Old ones aren’t as flat as they look (night).

Filled up, checked fluids, washed, waxed, and some tire shine. Adjusted tire pressure for the huge drop in temp and snow that we are expecting tomorrow and the rest of the week and letting it sit in the sun to rest for the first time in awhile Gave it a good vacuum and a new air freshener as well. Went with the season and tossed in an Apple Cinnamon little tree, the kids favorite.

Gotta pamper them every now and again so they know we care...

Pulled a small sharp Florida rock out of a tire that penetrated about 3/16" into rubber between tread. Think it went all the way to steel belt. Sprayed soapy water on it .... No bubbles so I think it's fine but will keep an eye on it.

I don't like all those little rocks stuck in between tire treads so I pick them out every once in a while. First one I ever found stuck into rubber. Glad I got it outa there before it worked in further

I did an oil change yesterday. It was a little early and 38F, but after doing it in the teens a couple Januaries ago I try to do one in December so I'm not due again until March.

Replaced front and rear brakes, flushed old brake fluid & replaced with Dot 4, did the rear wiper arm swap, and fought with my running boards (and lost!).

Also, a reminder to grease where your calipers and pads rub. My brakes were squealing, and I noticed some odd wear in the rear. The outside pad was worn down about three times more than the inside one, and the caliper and pads were all rusted/locked in place.

So I sanded them smooth, applied some grease, and everything moves around as it should now.

Made my own winter front cover, a rubber carpet with zip ties . Help keep the heat in. The Bush bar has a few more uses now :)

Drove it to the gym, then the Hallmark card shop and then the grocery store and then home.

I checked the "book" in the console and saw we've put almost 600 miles on it since I changed the oil/filter around the middle of October.

And on the way home we talked about how much we liked it. That conversation comes up every time both of us go some where in it.

Drove it in the first real snow we've had since owning it. Only about 5" but it did great. No slipping, sliding, or smashing of things on the road. Itll be ready for a good wash in a couple if days once the roads get cleared up, that's for sure

Tried to pass some grandma doing 10mph below the limit on a two lane highway yesterday, and as soon as I put my foot in it, I got a P0308 code and loss of power.

So today I pulled and replaced the original plugs with 105k miles on them. All looked worn, esp. #8, but otherwise were in good shape.

(Any wetness is from the Pb blaster I shot into the well to aid in extraction.)

Replaced the battery after 3 years 9 months of service. It was slow to start on me the other day and then wouldn't start at all the day after. Everything tested ok, but battery tested at 650 CCA (rated at 850 CCA and tested at 900+ when new). I used to get 6-7 years out of these batteries, but now they don't get much more than the 3 years they're warranted for. :/
