What does this icon mean (2023 Expy) ?

Sometimes it just shows up.
When it shows up on it's own it does not go on/off with the lane keeping button on the steering wheel.
What is it trying to tell me?

Is it a bug?

That is the BlueCruise indicator.

Read your vehicle owner’s manual for specific information regarding the system.

I thought BlueCruise was only on the platinum expy?

Mine is just a limited (spp)

But you are right, that is the meaning of the icon in the manual. Next time I am in the car I will check the cruise settings. Thanks.

Do you see any sort of infrared facial tracking cameras in your vehicle? I remember you posting about this a couple weeks back. Now I'm wondering if Ford included all the cameras required for BlueCruise on the other trim levels but just never activated the feature.

There is a lens pointed at the driver and I have the option (in the menus) to warn if the driver gets inattentive.

I really hope Ford is not BETA testing BlueCruise for these vehicles on you because that is the BlueCruise icon. :rotflmao: Since you said you do have the infrared facial tracking camera on your vehicle.

It very odd. The blue icon (with the arrow pointing at it) was on again today. When I turned lane keeping on and off the blue circle to the right went on and off. No effect on the icon in question.

I tried turning cruise on and off. No effect.

Then I started driving. I turned cruise control on and off. Changed the follow distance. Turned the lane keeping on and off. Nothing changed this icon. Cruise control did not try to keep me in my lane.

I feel like this is just a bug of some sort. Meh.

Perhaps talk to your vehicle sales person (now often called products specialist) or the dealer service department about the issue?

Yup, they have been doing it so long they are now called specialist. The second oldest profession. Lol

The colors listed above is what I have always seen. The blue is new.

Friday update. Drove to work, BLUE lane keeping and BLUE circle around the car icon. After work same thing. Stopped for groceries. After shopping they were back to gray / normal. Also the circle around the car icon went back to a gray pair of lines, one on each side of the car icon (normal)

There doesn't seem to be any behavior change with the color change so I'm not too concerned just very curious. Seems like a bug.

Icon remains gone. I've tried turning on and off
* Cruise
* Cruise with various distance settings
* Lane keeping

It's gone. Just another software ghost in the machine.

@Andy B, it seems this icon became available towards bottom of cluster after the last update install. So, this is indeed the BlueCruise Icon (lane centering + steering wheel) and moreover it looks like you have set parameters up in Settings menu (or defaulted to these parameters after the update - that's what my 2023 Timberline did):

In Settings Menu go to Driver Assist, then
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Centering with Hands Free.

The Icon turns blue is you enter a blue zone letting you know BlueCruise Hands Free is available. I think green means its active and white/grey would mean it is not available/active. Check this out from Ford and see the icon in the online owners manual.......

I have a ‘22 SPP and just had a software update two nights ago. Previously I only had lane centering, which when it was on the icon you originally highlighted would be green or if I turned it off it would be off. Now when I get in the lane centering icon is blue. Did you ever figure anything out with this?

Not really. Once and a while it's blue and shows up randomly. Then it goes away.

I haven't seen it in a while. Maybe they pushed a bug fix or something?

just bought a 2024 expedition timberline and apron start up ,sometimes, I get the same thing. a blue circle around the vehicle icon and the bluecriuse icon is illuminated. when this happens, lane centering doesn't work. only appears at start up. also doesn't appear all the time .In pic, it appeared at startup , stayed on the entire trip(lane centering doesn't work when this happens)if i shut car off and let it go into sleep mode, next startup its not there. brought it to one dealer and they said ford knows about it and a over the air update is coming in 6 months, brought to another dealer and they said , that's that's how its supposed to be.

22 SPP and I have the same icon. It showed up couple updates back. As others have said it seems to change color when I'm on roads with blue cruise coverage.
