Greetings,

I just bought 2009 EB Expedition and love it, it has 170k and has never towed anything, one owner. The oil light reads just right of center on the dash, what does yours read?20180917_112839.jpg

Thats oil pressure but it not showing actual pressure. Its a dummy gauge just saying there is pressure

The gauge? That’s what mine shows, technically slightly hot.

Thats not oil temp. Its pressure, and its an idiot switch. It has two positions: 1) where you see it when there is 'enough' pressure, and 2) zero when there isn't enough pressure.

Will throw in it’s also an idiot light on the ecoboosts. In fact I’m not sure the expy has ever seen a real oil pressure gauge.

Page 19 in the 2008 owner's manual. This is an oil PRESSURE display. Basically binary as if it shows it's probably good. A feel good "gauge" vs. a red warning light but there is one of those too.

Engine oil pressure gauge:
Indicates engine oil pressure. The
needle should stay in the normal
operating range (between “L” and
“H”).
If the needle falls below the
normal range, stop the vehicle, turn
off the engine and check the engine
oil level. Add oil if needed. If the oil level is correct, have your vehicle
checked by your authorized dealer.
(Emphasis added.)

Oil temperature is not readable on this truck, there is no sensor so even with an OBD2 gauge you can't read it unless you install a separate oil temperature sensor.

I run a Scangauge II on my 07 for towing. It will get up to 212+/- when I'm in traffic or pushing it on hills etc, but normally it sits at about 196 degrees. Trans sit's a little lower.
Like everyone else was saying though, the OPs pic is of the oil "pressure" gauge. Not temp.
