I looked at that Hayden controller as well but it said it was only good for temps up to 210. It should work out okay, but I didn't want my fan kicking on whenever I sat at a longer than usual red light or was idling after warmed up. 220-230 seems like the correct range for this truck.

With the controller set just under the max it hasn't kicked in while sitting yet, I had it lower and its kick on and off once fully warmed up but that seemed too excessive...

AAH!! Sorry I didn't see this until now!

So, I've actually gone through several different controllers, and am now running two Hayden 3654?'s and have them wired one per fan, and them set to come on 10* apart from each other.

I also took the probes out of the radiator hose and taped them directly to the radiator hose to get better sensing because they weren't very accurate or consistent while in the radiator.

I still have both wired to the AC override which is nice when idling in the heat.

Thus far I've not gotten the system to a point to where I really don't have to worry about the truck temp, mainly when towing. I say this because I think I need to move the sensors to the lower radiator hose as I think that is the inlet to the radiator, am I correct? The reason I think this is because I believe that on the upper hose once the sensors receive the temp increase its already run through the radiator and the fans won't do much and the engine gets a dose of its hot water right back instead of if the fans kicked in earlier.

Also when I did tow and it was about 75, i had the AC on so both fans were running. I had lost my overdrive button so I had to keep on the pedal pretty hard and saw the temp creeping up, I have yet to tow with the button working and my ability to turn the overdrive off.

So it's a work in progress and has had its share of frustrations.

For reals? That blows. Inlet to the radiator, not motor, correct? Gotta figure something else out. Any suggestions? I have to have it set to where the large (first) fan stays on at least 50-75% of the time or else the temp starts to rise in normal conditions.
