I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer expedition with 46,000 miles onit it. I hear a faint shinning noise from about 30 mph on. Similar to a truck with off road tires. No shifting problems or loud noises just a constant hum.

Might be a wheel hub going bad. My Old Man's truck (also an 04, but with 120,000 miles) has the same faint hum from the back of the truck on the driver's side and were going to replace that pretty quick here. See if you notice if it gets worse/louder when making a left or right turn. That would help tell if its the bearings rubbing in the hub assembly.
