I, for one, don’t see the point in lift kits, skid plates and/or all-terrain tires on black vehicles, which highlights every little minor scratch. Might as well get a big sticker that says “poser” for the top of the windshield.

While I agree that black is a horrible color choice for an off-road rig because you can see every scratch and dent from a mile away, I disagree with everything else. If we all only bought what was necessary and nothing purely for our enjoyment, driveways around the country would be littered with tiny little commuter cars with one seat, 20-25hp and they’d all be whatever color required no additional pigments in the rust inhibiting coatings. But here we are with trucks that have 350-400hp, 7 or 8 seats and a dozen different colors to choose from. Why should skid plates and all-terrains be any different. Am I posing as a soccer mom because I have MAX?

NO BLACK WHEELS!!!! Will ruin it. It was a fad and it is over! machined aluminum with black accents at the most!! Keep it classy!

Hate to tell you they are now becoming OEM on 'outdoorsy' vehicles.

No, I see that, but they are also on EVERY piece of s**t junker on the road!! Whether they are wheels are just factory wheels painted or plastidipped!!! That is what I don’t like. They are on everything and more often than not, they look like crap.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule. As with everything. In fact, I hate to say it but one of the rims at the top of my list is this below. I think what I like about these is the machines lip. One thing I will say about my search for wheels is that I am having a hard time finding the perfect wheel, and I am just not sure I can commit to any of them until I see them on the truck first. I will have to find a shop that will let me pay them hourly to put two on a side at a time.
