    What is going on?

    I had the same thing on mine, I had a bad plug, would work fine cold, and start bucking when it warmed up. Pull the plugs and give them a check.

    If you remove the rub rails you wont want the flares on there. I have mine removed but have the flares from factory and really don't like the look of it. even painted them black to match and don't like them. Would love to remove them too but like you said I have about 10 holes under them each.

    Hard shift 2nd gear

    For me, I had 1 smooth for every 10 hard. I had the same problem, pulled the 2nd gear valve spring out in 4 pieces.

    Miss at roughly 1200 rpm

    I'd also check the coils and plugs, just because they are new doen't mean one is not bad. Pulling everything apart might have got dirt in a fuel injector also. Getting enough fuel to pull away but not enough to sastain an even flow.

    f-150 grille

    I have a grille from a 99 F-150 installed in my ex, was a direct bolt on. Only thing that was different was the grill insert. Couldn't use my original as they were off a little bit.

    Intake silencer

    The intake silencer delete is removing the silencer in the plastic part of the intake tube. In the 1st gen it is in the hard plastic elbow. Gots mod is removing the small apture part going into the fender from the air filter and making it bigger.

    I bought a set off of e-bay, all 8 for $110can, that look like Accel knockoffs. That was a year and a half ago, put around 30,000k on them and still working great.

    Intermitent trans leak?
