AWD '01 EXPEDITION - 4WD System Will Not Engage Consistently
I have a '01 AWD Expedition had truck since new. It has electronic switch on dash to change to 4WD & 4WD LOW. 250K miles, New Trans @ 200K, I changed the oils in differentials and transfer case every 100K. I never use the 4 WD on this truck. I ran some Lucas Fuel injector cleaner and premium gas last 3 tank fulls and did not re-occur YET... Rear AIR Suspension Concern
YES, both sides of the suspension are connected together through your 20+year old hoses and valves. Next time you have a leak in (2 weeks from now) listen to what other users are saying and change to coil shocks. These things are notorious for leaking (it is a money pit). Faint Hum - Wheel Bearing Not Tight Enough?
My view on older vehicles is do not fix what is not broke. I will not replace things for general maintenance for exactly situations like this...(if I changed both hub bearing both would potentially have same problem with cheep import bearings) Also you are opening yourself up to can of worms...- Mike Joros
