    5.4L rear main seal question

Should anyone follow this thread in the future. DO NOT buy a 4503N seal for a transfer case output shaft. ( rear main drive shaft) This is a two part seal, dust and oil. The dust is way too tight, a short amount of mileage will cause extreme heat to the rubber and the entire seal will pop out of...

But have been working too much the last few weeks. I started yesterday eve by removing both drive shafts, drained...

    5.4L rear main seal question

Thanks for the input. I have found some info on the F150 forum on the topic. The parts are actually 2 separate items, the seal and the slinger. Seal facing inward toward the crank and the slinger mounted facing the Flywheel, the two mounted back to back. Some posts say that several do not even...

    5.4L rear main seal question

Ive done many rear main seal jobs in my day but never a 5.4L ford. Looking at a fsm I see reference to not only a rear main seal but a part called an Oil Slinger, that mates to the rear main seal. FSM says to replace both the seal and the slinger. I see that main seal every where but no mention...

    Front end annoying clunking noise

Ive tried to check the steering rack for any slack, but have not disconnected it to try that way. May give it a try next time I have it up on the lift.

    Front end annoying clunking noise

Yes my bearings were also done, stabilizer links I used Moog and yes have pulled them more than once for inspection just to be sure. Every bolt on the entire front end has been double checked for proper torque several times. Still doing it to date. Have for the most part given up chasing this...

    Front end annoying clunking noise

Wheel bearings on a 2006 reside within a sealed hub assembly. Have to look back and see if I posted that or not, but yes replaced the hub assembly on the side making the noise. Still to this day does it, still cant find the cause.

    random misfire '97 expy 290k

Ive seen plugs much more oil fouled than that and still not create a misfire problem. But I do see one problem AUTOLITE. I myself just went through similar irratic misfire problems on 2 of my vehicles, one a toyota with 180k and just last week my expedition with 110k. IN both Cases I had...

    2006 P0307 code help

too late tonight to check what I just found. MY digital FSM shows that cyl #7 is the 3rd from the front on the passenger side just below the ECM module. Unless I am viewing this diagram wrong. However, Ive just found several articles on the net that state that the cylinders 5,6,7,8 are on the...
