Compression fittings can fail. That's why brake lines are one piece. Brakes are the one item on your vehicle that's got to be 100 percent. Your rolling down the road with close to 3 tons of weight.

Easy there babbalooey , it's your SUV, you can put on anything you choose. Were just giving advice here! Your dad is probably a great mechanic, and not doubting his brake line connections. But they have been known to give way. That being said, if it was me, I'd check them every week or so the first 2 or 3 weeks, just to be sure. Checking your master cylinder level is always a sign something's going on. Pre bent lines are available online, saw 2 different company's sell them. Anyhoo, be safe, enjoy your ride!

Hi I just bought a 1999 Eddie Bauer edition and in order to put it on the road they said i need to do brake lines (because they are a little rusty). I'm doing them myself and I was looking if anyone has some tips on doing them.

GOOD LUCK trying to get the PRE BENT LINE that runs from the rear up to the front on drivers side frame on 3rd gens Called the ford dealer and he said he couldn't get it,If you got to do it get a roll of the copper brake line and make your own and bubble flares use your fittings if possible

FOR ANYONE ONE READING THE MISLEADING COMMENT ON THIS TREAD
