    Cost of Ownership

Another reason why brake fluid should be flushed & replaced every other year. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture) and that moisture causes rust in lines & calipers. Also water becomes steam & will cause air bubbles in the line, leading to spongy brakes.

Anyone using E85 in their flex fuel vehicle

I've never used E85 but recently thought about running a tank of it. Even though the car is designed to run on it my concern is it's an 09, now suddenly throwing E85 in it will it cause sudden leaks or other issues? I mainly want to run it as it's allegedly a good cleaning method. I know it's...

    A/C keeps turning off.

Heater Blower Motor Resistor Regulator Harness For 07-14 Ford Expedition, $14 on ebay. You can use the supplied butt connectors but personally I prefer to solder & heat shrink. And btw, it's not just A/C, there's only one motor for the front that handles A/C, Heat, Defrost & vents. Sent from my...

Does the 302 Limited have 400hp or 375 for 2019?

Interesting that trim levels dictate hp. Not that it hasn't been done before though. Often I'll see people ask questions and they feel listing extra information like what kind of wipers, brake fluid etc should I use in my 09 Limited EL. Btw, when I get wiper blades from Autozone and they ask me...

    Wider tires?

Quick questions on your 3" lift. Did you need to modify anything like brake lines? Did the handling change much? Affect the shaft angles from pumpkins to wheels? I'm considering this when it warms up. I also noticed that the kits are 3" front & 2" rears.

    Wider tires?

BTW I used an app called Tire Expert to do the size calculation. There's also this site as well: https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?

    Wider tires?

Stock 275/55/20 is 810.5 mm tall & 2546mm in diameter The 285/50/20 is 793mm tall & 2491 in diameter, would lower your ride height 8.8mm and at 100Kph your speedometer would read 97.8Kph. A 305/50/20 would be much closer at 813 mm tall & 2554mm in diameter. and at 100Kph your speedometer would...

    Wider tires?

Thanks for all the good advice as usual. I have a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 255/70 R18's ordered through my local Mavis. Price is better than the online companies. I need tires that can handle high speeds, here on the Island we typically run 75mph. Being a long time road driver I don't slow...

So he was a bit long winded but he had some very good points.

    Wider tires?

For snow yes, but for soft sand though you want more of a footprint to keep from sinking in. Now I've come to realize that the difference in width is minimal. Just about .7 inches wider. In millimeters it sounded so much wider.

    Wider tires?

These just look like they're borrowed from an Escape. Also figured on a little more flotation on sand as well.

    Wider tires?

Currently my 09 EL has 255/70/18's & considering going to 275/65/18. They're almost the same diameter. Has anyone changed sizes as well?...

    Can anyone find this?

They sell the same pump at Harbour Freight for about $6. Came in very handy to blow out the clogged moonroof drains, saved over $700 doing it.

    Can anyone find this?

Looks like a pregnancy test for a aluminum wheel. Seriously though, a lot of times manufacturers make updates and a new parts look slightly different than the original. I worked for a Ford dealer when I was a kid, Ford part numbers are actually very logical. For example E7SZ-16612-B E was basic...

    Can anyone find this?

Boy is my face red, you're absolutely correct. I was thinking of my 04. I know on the wifes 08 Explorer it has the short one underneath. To check it needs to be at operating temperature & running. Fairly easy to access, however it is right next to the hot exhaust. A catch 22 situation.

    Can anyone find this?

To be more precise my 04 is an EB and 09 is a Limited EL

    Can anyone find this?

Whats odd is my wifes 08 Explorer (4.6) has the short dipstick that you check from underneath the car. My 04 & 09 Expeditions both have old school dipsticks, as did my 2000 Expedition which I no longer have. The 2000 had the 4.6, the others are 5.4's but I don't think that matters

    Grill Sag

Thanks Flexpedition for the answer to the mystery, after getting the part number I even found it on Ebay for $47. Apparently if it's on Amazon & Ebay this is fairly common.

    Grill Sag

OK, maybe this sounds silly but my grill sags. It looks a little like a smile which doesn't make me smile. the lower bar, the thin one sags and I haven't noticed any others like it, this is something I'd rather not be unique about.

    F-150 wheel install on Expedition

The F-Series have solid axles, Expeditions (except 1st gen) and Explorers have independent rear axles. The rears use CV joint axles with a long center stud (longer than necessary in my opinion) so you'll need different center caps Since the Expys have independent vs solid axles I would have...

    Can anyone find this?

Numbers on parts are generally casting numbers, not the actual part number. I believe this is the part number that you're seeking 6L2Z-7A010-C you can even find it on Amazon, Ebay etc
