    DC to DC charger wiring

Has anyone added a dc to dc house battery charger to their Expy? The existing cable provides very little amperage to the house battery(ies) while towing. I'm curious how you wired it from the Expy's alternator.

    Recommended oil for 2014 5.4L 3V Triton

My Expy lives in the Pacific Northwest where average temperatures in summer usually stay in the 70s with occasional jumps up into the 90s for a couple of weeks. FordTechMakuloco in his YouTube video "This is Why Maintaining the Ford 5.4L 3V Triton Engine is So Important" 5 years ago, he stated...

    Battery Phantom Draw

2014 LTD. I suspect I'm having a phantom draw issue. Tested draw using my multimeter set to amps. The method I use is: 1. Disconnect the NEG cable. 2. Clip one lead to the the NEG post 3. Clip the other lead to the disconnected NEG cable 4. Wait several minutes for things to settle down and take...

    Rear sag

2014 Expy with HD tow package, 71,000 miles. Without a load on my hitch my front end is about 7/8" to 1 1/8" higher than the rear. Is this normal? When I hook up the trailer and set up my WDH the transfer of weight to the front axle keeps the difference about the same as when unloaded. My ride...

    SYNCH, phone, radio/CD

I couldn't find an answer in the Owner's Manual, nor in the forums. It's a hard title to search. Not equipped with the NAV panel, just the little radio screen with my backup camera inset in the rear view mirror. My iPhoneXR is synched just fine, I make calls/receive calls, get texts, etc, no...

    Air Filter

Opinions seem to be all over the place, but from what I can glean there's not a lot of love for K&N Air Filters. General consensus is go with OEM. OEM (Motorcraft) was engineered for the engine and should stay with the engine. That said, some proponents of K&Ns said they're great if your...

    Rear differential fluid change?

The owners manual for my 2014 LTD says the rear diff fluid is synthetic and no need to change the fluid for the lifetime of the vehicle...unless there's an obvious leak or the axle was driven under water. I've got neither of those. I mentioned this to my mechanic and he said yeah he knows what...

    Powerstop Slotted Rotors/Pads Z-36

62,000 on the 2014 Expy. We tow a 3500 lb trailer 4000-5000 miles a year. Rest of the time it's a daily driver. Always easy on starts and stops, even when towing. Getting the front end wobble while slowing to stop at the bottom of a hill. Suspect rotors warped. RockAuto offers drilled/slotted...

    Brake pad and rotor replacement

Did a search and really couldn't find an answer as to recommended brand of replacement rotors and pads. Expy is 2014 LTD, we tow a 3500 lbs camping trailer about 5000-6000 miles a year. Very easy on the brakes if used at all on downhill grades as the tow system provides engine braking. Being an...

Front passenger-side axle shaft seal seep

OK...I'm getting an occasional dime-size drip on the garage floor from the area of the front passenger-side axle shaft seal. I've done a search and got lots of good info on DIY replacement, etc. My question is is this an emergency "gotta get it fixed immediately" kinda thing? Since I rarely put...

    Model Number

I've got a 2014 Expedition. I've looked all over, but can't find my model number to determine where my transmission dipstick is located. Does 6R75 or 6R80 sound right? I can't find the dipstick under the hood, so I'm guessing it's a short one on the side of the transmission.

    New Shocks

Looking for recommendations to replace stock rear shocks on my 2014 Expy. I tow a 3100 lb camping trailer with an Andersen weight distribution hitch assembly. The Andersen does a great job, however truck still squats 1/2" - 3/4" in the rear with full hitch tension. It's well within tolerance...

    Rear seat heaters

2014 Limited. The right rear passenger seat heater works fine...little activation lights light up and my granddaughter says it warms up OK. However, when the left passenger seat heater toggle switch is pushed the activation lights do not illuminate which is telling me that the left side seat...

    Buzzing noise at low speed

I hate it when folks post trying to describe a noise...but here I am doing just that. Yep, it's a buzzing noise on the driver's side...seems to be embedded in the dash. The noise only happens at low speed as I am accelerating from stop through about 20-25 mph...then it goes away. Got about...

    Rain sensor 2014 LTD

Rain sensor works intermittently. Driving down the road during light rain fall when you want it at a low setting, I'll get the initial wipe then the wipers just sit there all owing rain to accumulate to the point that forward vision is getting bad. Forces me to turn it up another notch. Then...

    Information system

2014 Ltd, non-navigation. Towing trailer so I disabled the rear parking aid. After unhooking trailer the "Rear Parking Aid <ON> OFF" displayed which is what I wanted, but the selector buttons became inoperable and this display remained fixed. Tried everything. Finally had to pull the neg battery...

    Trailer Stability Control

2014 Expy Limited with HD Tow Package, including integrated factory brake controller. Does this package include the Trailer Stability Control? How can I verify if it does or doesn't? No help thru SEARCH.

    Navigation system

Picking up a preowned 2014 Limited soon. It's got everything I need. I woulda liked to have had the navigation panel/system...it's just got the backup camera in the rear view mirror. Is it possible to get the whole nav panel installed? Any idea of cost? Where?

    Performance charts

Can anyone direct me to Expedition performance charts? Torque is king when it comes to trailer towing and I'm curious about Expy torque output at different RPMs. And while we're at it, I'd be happy to hear what Expy owners think about the towing capability of their trucks.
