What did you do to the expy today

Thanks for the feedback folks, and I've siding on removing the spacers. I'll get it done on Monday when I'm free. Drifting Expy...on purpose...kewl :happy107:

What did you do to the expy today

The front is already pretty wide and with either the 24's with their 35mm offset or the new 26s and their 25mm offset they will protrude a bit. Hence why i stuck the spacer in the rear (only!) as their typically tucked in. The factory 44mm offset 20s were flushed up front and tucked pretty good...

What did you do to the expy today

Got my 1.5" spacers (hub centric) in the rear and they're a tad bit aggressive imho. Well, it was the quickest option as anything under 1.5 required shorter studs and I really didn't want to blow too much mullah. Maybe it will grow on me but it definitely sticks out quite a bit more (but I...

    Why an Expedition?

-GM twins have solid rear axles => cramped 3rd row. -Sequoia was very few and most were out of budget (newest version) -Armada was a good second place and nissan did excellent job for their first full-size suv. In the end, the little details coupled with a 5 speed auto (vs six on the 3rd gens)...

What did you do to the expy today

Mine is just a cap with a bolt holding it down. I don't know how safe the new neighborhood I'm moving to is (in a different state), so I might as well spend $25 on the locks as these caps go for ~$60 each on ebay (used). I always had locks and though I've seen countless aftermarket wheels here...

What did you do to the expy today

Thanks! edit: picked up a wheel lock system for $10 on ebay (open acorn) and a center cap lock kit for $25 (ouch ).

What did you do to the expy today

Thinking of getting spacers as the 25mm offset tucks the wheels in the rear even more vs the 35mm of the 24s:banghead:

What did you do to the expy today

Lol, yeah that's what you have to do. The shop I went to wanted $60, but I told them I already had the tool. I believe if you have two og keys and fobs, you don't need the tool. Otherwise, its not terribly expensive to have around in case something changes with your tire setup. From experience...

What did you do to the expy today

Its to program (aka "train") the sensors. Its about $35 and the procedure is simple. I already had it when i switched to 24s from the stock 20s. I got lucky my 24's came off a navi that retained the stock sensors. Unfortunately, the band was at its max and I could not use it for the 26s I got...

What did you do to the expy today

Got a nice used set of 26s on CL. Currently at a tire shop swapping the tpms sensors. Needed new belts but was able to re-use the sensors themselves. Saves me the sensor fees and programming (i have the training tool), but labor was a bit more then i expected. Wheels are Red sport RSW99 and...

    Wanna run 24s

They're the belt type and I'm not sure if the belt will stretch to 26's :(. I'm going to see them on Monday and I'll decide then if I'll get the 26s. I got lucky my current 24's came off an 08 Navi, so I just had to buy the training tool ($35) only :chewie:

    Wanna run 24s

I'm on 24s and compared to the factory 20s, the ride is much more tighter in terms of handling. The quality is a bit harsher but you just have paved roads all the time in the city. I took her up to the mountains and she did well and i loved the extra grip I felt. I guess the oem size 275/55's...

What did you do to the expy today

Fixed a misfire for free! Sputtered on way to work. Got home and hooked up the scanner. Code p0308 showed up. Went to autozone and bought a new coil. Turns out there was some water and gunk. Some cleanup and voila! She purrs like a sleeping kitten. Remembered on occasion got misfires...

What did you do to the expy today

Got rid of the yellow headlights :happy107: went at it with: 220 320 500 1000 1200 1500 2000 all wet (bucket of water) and had a sprayer handy for some more wetness. Wife was uber pissed when I was drying the headlights pre-polish. Went at it with a buffing wheel using white and then...

    Tire+wheel help!!

I've seen insane stretches on youtube, and this one don't seem like a big challenge though I would question how long will it last tbh. You just need to find a shop that can do this type of special install. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4Q5MgkXUto My Limited came with stock sized...

New Guy!! trying to make a deal and need advice

Paid 19.9k for my stnd limited last year with 55k miles. I've seen 100k kr and lims (including el) go for closer to 15k and this is in slightly more xpensive southern cali. Have you checked Edmunds true value? I used that to get a price point to haggle more for my trade in and got the dealer to...

    Rear wheel spacers (hub centric)?

Just an quick update, got the tpms training tool today, earlier then expected. Hazard light steps didn't work so i found a vid from a ford tech. Did the key and brake pedal steps and got it going. Made sure the tires were @ the max psi per manufacturer before starting. Once under way, it was...

Cost for a Second Key - 11 Expy XLT

I purchased our truck locally as well, though the carfax said the car was from central and sourthern california (not San Diego where I live). So there was really no way to find the og owner(s) and the dealer was a small one dealing w/ luxury or semi-luxury vehicles (they had an 08 EL but w/...

Cost for a Second Key - 11 Expy XLT

Home depot programmed a key for $70. Better then the local dealer @ $150 + programming. As for the remote fob, i got one broken and incorrect one from a navi. It didn't open the lift gate. Found the right p/n and got a couple of used ones on ebay for ~$40 each. Programming requires an og ford...

    Rear wheel spacers (hub centric)?

Its not too bad and probably a 1/4" would make it less obvious (to me :p). The wheels were off an 08 Navigator. The seller bought it w/ them and said the first owner had put them on his navi. The sensors did work for the seller and said he bought new ones for his new wheels. When the expy was in...

    Rear wheel spacers (hub centric)?

Just installed my wheels and fresh tires, noticed the rears are tucked in a bit. I need to measure when I get a chance to use a leveled surface but it looks like about 1/2" should put it at the same width as the fronts. The wheels are Concept neeper javv6 24s (width I believe is 10") and tires...

What did you do to the expy today

Finally replaced the worn to the bone old tires that came w/ my new wheels. Wheels are used concept neepers wrapped in inexpensive safiros (same tires that came w/ the 20s when I bought my lim, no complaints and so i went with them). Ride is a bit harder but wife and I are used to it having had...
