My friend has a 2003 4.6L expedition with 190K miles. Runs good and drives good. Its spins more times than normal before starting although it always starts and runs fine. She now engages the starter about 2 to 3 short spins and it always starts. No OBD II codes set and runs good under acceleration and idle. We haven't checked fuel pressure at the fuel rails. Air Filter is new and good. Replaced fuel pump recently. Problem was present before and after fuel pumps change. Any thoughts on this one?

Check all spark plugs for fouling and increased gap.

Fuel pump relay/fuse box have been issues on the 2003's.
Check pressure on the fuel rail prior to cranking up as the system may be bleeding down. If that is the case it could be a faulty check valve in the fuel pump or a stuck injector.
