2005 expedition axle id

so i got a 05 expedition with a axle code of 16. i know its got 3.73 gears from what i can make out on the tags. but not sure if its open or locking rear. if its not a trac-lock wich models came with them so i can swap it out. i dont like this one legged thing. any help would be good

Axle code 16 should be an open differential, you can put in your VIN at etis.ford.com and check for sure.

You can also check the door build tag. It has the differential code. I believe h6 is 3.73 limited slip.

Doea yours have advancetrac? Im not 100% sure, but if it does i think that a clutch style lsd with cause issues.

Randys ring and pinion is a good place to start research. ringpinion.com they carry a few different options, but im sure that you could find them for cheaper on other sites
