Phaser issues will cause the timing to jump around but you won't see that on a scan tool. You'll just see what it's commandingThanks for the replies. I had the right bank for 5 and 7. Will see if I can hunt down vacuum leak tomorrow. And correct no flex fuel. Is 28 den advance a norm for this engine? Just curious if the cam phaser tic can make timing jump around. Most stuff I read seams to say it's just an annoyance.
If the intake is the same as older models, check on the backside of intake from pcv. There is an elbow vac which usually gets a hole in it. can just use other bulk matching diameter hose. do not need to get the fancy elbow. dorman makes the part, too.
You could put in a temporary straight pipe until you get the money to replace the cat. I know you have emission testing out there but at least it would get you going for a while.Ok, replaced the plastic elbow and hose on the back of the intake manifold. Huge pain in the A%&. Elbow was cracked on the tapered part that is covered by the hose. Drivers side Cat is plugged. Removed it and a bunch of material fell out. Tried to blow air through with my compressor and cat is completely obstructed. Hard to believe it would start at all. Now I am waiting to come up with the $1000 bucks to replace the cat.
