2012 Trailer Aux Power

I'm looking for a way to power some 12V equipment outside the vehicle (ham radio gear if you must know), and before I buy anything, I was wondering if anyone knew if the trailer aux power on a 2012 Expedition is always on, or switched on the ignition key. I've seen in a different thread that it's switched on the driver's door, but that won't cause an issue for me.

I have medical issues preventing me from easily getting under the vehicle to be able to see to use a multimeter.

Just checked my 2012 with HD tow and 7 pin. No voltage on any terminals with key off.
