Guys, we hear every day about the 5.4L 3V timing issues. Are the 4.6s any better? On one hand, I don't see why they would because they are mostly the same as the 5.4. On the other hand, maybe the oil pump isn't as underwhelming on the 4.6 just because it is smaller than the 5.4. Regardless, I just don't hear bad things about the 4.6 very often other than lack of power (on an Expedition).
I am considering buying an old Explorer (yes I know this is an Expedition forum) for my kids, and I found one with a 4.6. Might be good because I am familiar with the 5.4 obviously, and the 4.6 is mostly similar.
What has your experience been with the 4.6 in your Expedition? Thanks
