Back up camera 2008 Expedition EL

My 2008 has NAV and the camera is in the mirror.

Huh? I've never seen one. Every 08 I looked at had the NAV screen and backup camera was in there.

I think if you don't have a nav system but have the backup camera that's when its in the mirror

could be wrong but when I was shopping for my 08 that's what I remember

That's what I thought but he has the NAV also so just wondering if I was given false info in the past

yeah I see that now but I know I have seen them in the mirror maybe there was a mid year change

Pretty sure all 2008 and 2009's had camera in rear view. NAV or not.
I believe 2010+ display was moved to NAV screen when NAV equipped.

This can be confusing. Pretty sure no rear view cameras in 2007. In 2008 the rear view camera was a $455 option. Later ('09 IIRC) became standard equipment on Limited but optional on EB and XLT. The next year that all changed again.

At any rate, I am skeptical the vehicle is hardwired for it.

I have an 08 KR L with navigation and the video for backup displays in the mirror....

I have been looking at the OEM backup mirror with the camera in place. It looks like my expedition has the correct Mirror. I found a place that sells OEM back up camera and allows return. I think I'm going to buy it and see what happens.
