Broken plastic piece from the fuel insert

Previous owner got the check fuel cap and engine check fixed 3 mo ago, but the check fuel cap message came back. Im 100% positive this could be the issue.. Can someone please take a picture of their fuel inserts so I can compare it to mine? 03 expedition. Thanks

Hmmm mine looks exactly like the broken one in the OP. Perhaps the broken piece fell down my vent pipe causing the burp of gas when the pump shuts off at full...
