My first thought is range. The factory remote doesn't have the best range, maybe 100' or so. Most remote starts have a range of 1000' plus.

Matt is correct. Range on the factory remote is almost worthless... Not to mention that it usually requires a lock-lock-lock or lock-unlock-lock procedure, accelerating lock actuator wear. Get a name brand unit installed by a reputable shop. You'll be so much happier. I make most of my living in the winters installing remote starts, so if you want information or suggestions, feel free to PM me.

EDIT: The other problem with the cheaper units like the one you found on Amazon, is that the usually require you to give up a key for the transponder bypass. Reputable shops will use XpressKit or ADS (iDataLink, Flashlogic, Omega, etc) modules to keep you from losing a key.
