I was changing the serpentine belt today and found something I've never heard anyone talk about. I was trying to get the belt on the lower pulleys and trying to reach around the lower fan shroud. First I noticed that it felt loose. I found that there are holes on the both edges that should have had a plastic retainer pin in. Both are gone. I don't know how long they have been gone. When I went to see if that is going to be a problem. The lower fan shroud is hinged. It pivoted up out of the way and made getting to the belt a piece of cake. I also noticed the oil filter is easy to get at with the shroud up and out of the way.
