Does anyone know if the expeditions are set up for electric brakes on a trailer or do I have to buy a separate unit?

I got a 99 expedition. EB.

Thanks

You will need a separate brake controller of your choice and additional wiring to the trailer if you don't have a 7 pin connector at the receiver. If you have a 7 pin connector at the receiver, you should have wire provisions under the dash ready to install a brake controller.

even if you only have the 4pin conector the provision for the brake controller is under the dash.

The only difference is the 7pin the wire is already hooked up to the conector and on the 4pin the wire is stubbed and tucked into the harness in the rear so you just have to locate it and conect it to a conector.
